Neil was born the son of John and Henrietta (Woods) Meredith on July 26th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Our Lady of Refuge elementary school and West Bloomfield High School graduating with the class of 1963. In 1966 Neil proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and after active service in the Vietnam War separated from the Marine Corp achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On July 5th, 1969 Neil married Irene Santia and they raised a family in Waterford, Michigan but divorced in 1981. Neil co-founded Gino’s Restaurant in Keego Harbor in 1969 and continued commercial endeavors as a property developer, while owning several bars and restaurants during a very successful career.
Neil married Leah (Laffrey) Cicchetti on December 14th 1985 onboard ship in Tampa Bay, Florida and raised a blended family in Davisburg, Michigan. Neil was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church and Edgewood Country Club.
Neil loved his family, was fiercely loyal, and generous to a fault with family and friends alike. Patriotic, he also loved golfing, fishing, traveling the world, and brought laughter to those he knew with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Leah Meredith; children Gina Meredith (Shane Larson), Neil Meredith Jr, (Leah Retherford), stepson Nicholas Cicchetti, granddaughter Isabella Cicchetti, and many nieces and nephews. Neil was predeceased by his parents and siblings; John Meredith, Connie Johnston, and Kenneth Meredith.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at 2904 Orchard Lake Road, Keego Harbor, Michigan, 48320. A memorial mass will be held on Monday June 23rd, 2025, at 11 am (10:30 gathering) at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, located at 3700 Commerce Road in Sylvan Lake, Michigan. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on a date to be determined.
