Thomas Lee Katich, age 65, of Waterford, was born August 18, 1959 and passed away suddenly March 31, 2025. Tom was deeply loved and a truly special person. He was a dear brother of Todd (Toni) Katich, Laurie (Gary) Kellman, and Jerry (Karen) Katich. Proud uncle of several nieces and nephews including Olivia, Karoline, Kayte, Joe, Anthony III, Ashley, Courtney, Brooke, and Rod. Tom was preceded in passing by his father John Katich Sr., mother Alice Shilling, brother John Katich Jr., sister Joyce Dixon, and nephew Ryan. Tom also leaves behind his former wife of 37 years, Jill Katich (Carl Bain) and many close family and friends including Teri Tuttle, Tom Brauher, Walt Dixon, Jamie Fordice, Ricky Norman, Mike Dicea, the Lesner boys, Jim Hepler and too many more to mention. But you know who you are.
Tom was generous, caring, fun, sensitive, and genuine, with a heart of gold. He brought light and laughter to everyone around him and will be missed dearly by his many friends, family and coworkers. Tom found happiness in the outdoors and in good company. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, playing poker with close friends, and spending time at the casino. He also had a love for softball. These moments brought him joy and reflected his fun-loving spirit.
Tom took great pride in his work, serving as a plumbing inspector for four cities/townships in Oakland County for over 22 years before retiring. He later continued his career at Solomon Plumbing, where he was respected and appreciated by all who worked with him.
Tom is now at peace and free from pain. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where loved ones can gather to honor the man who touched so many lives and left us far too soon.
