Beatrice Gibson, 94 beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas, from the complications of dementia. She was a woman of grace, love, and unwavering faith. Mrs Gibson leaves behind a legacy of kindness and elegance that will never be forgotten by the people she touched.
Born to AB Guyton and Chellie Guyton in Lillington, North Carolina, Beatrice was a woman of deep family values, faith, and resilience. She traveled the world alongside her husband Thedore Gibson Sr. His military service gave her experience and life adventures. At the same time, she always kept family close in her heart. After 48 years of marriage, until the death of Sgt Gibson, and raising her son, she always called Texas home.
Mrs Gibson was woman of impeccable style. She always dressed to perfection, and she never left the house without her signature lipstick or a belt around her waist. One of Mrs Gibson’s quintessential sayings was “YOU GOTTA LOOK GOOD TO DRIVE A LINCOLN!” That was just one of her “BEAISMS” Most of us heard at one time or another “Don’t let me have to whoop you”or “Bless your heart” Mrs Gibson found joy in life’s simple pleasures—attending church, playing bingo, cooking for her family and surrounding herself with those she loved and those who loved her. Her warmth, elegance, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Mrs Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter, Francis Byrd, and her grandson, Donald Byrd Jr. She leaves behind her devoted son, Thedore Gibson Jr., and his husband, Jason Backe, along with countless nieces, cousins, extended family, and special friends in North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia and Texas.
Her love, laughter, and timeless elegance will remain in our hearts forever. Please don’t forget how she made you feel.
