He was born on March 23, 1928 in Files Valley, Hill County Texas.
Sandy was a beloved Coach, Teacher and Administrator with Killeen High School from 1954 – 1989. His hobbies included training, riding and cutting horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Hooper and Thelma Mae Turner Hooper.
Sandy is survived by his wife Joyce Hooper, a daughter Becky Hooper Ericsson and a son Gary Hooper.
He will also be missed by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Hooper family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Killeen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:30 PM at The Church of Christ Belton. Burial will follow in Greathouse Cemetery.
