Beth E. Ware, who loved to be called “Sugar foot” by her husband, “Mama” by her children, and “Boo Boo” by her grandchildren, departed her loving family on May 22, 2023.
Beth was born in Eagle Township, Kansas on September 15,1932 to Andrew and Rena Imel. Her family relocated to Raymondville, Texas when she was very young, allowing her to spend her childhood and adolescence in the valley and prompting her to consider herself a “Texan” from that point on.
In 1953, Beth met and fell in love with a young red-headed airman named Raymond Ware. He was cocky and sure of himself and she absolutely loved every bit of his self-confidence! Beth and Raymond were married on July 31, 1954 and built a loving family throughout their sixty-two years of marriage. Beth was a devoted military wife to a career military man, moving as the Air Force directed and building a home for their family wherever they happened to land. Ultimately, she followed the “Chief “(CMSGT Raymond Ware) to Harker Heights, Texas where they built their final home and established themselves in the community until Raymond was called to the Lord in July of 2016. Beth remained in their home, with the companionship of her daughter, Rhonda Green, throughout her remaining years.
Beth was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She devoted her life to ensuring her children and their children were happy and cared for, and continued to do so well into her final days. Beth and Raymond raised one son, Stephen Goodale-Ware (with whom she is now reunited in Heaven), and three daughters, Rena Shivar, Rhonda Green, and Tina Quinn. They also spread their love among nine grandchildren (Raymond Ware, Matthew Ware, Stephanie Ware Stephen Goodale-Ware, Jr., Christie Amburn, Christopher Peele, Angel Green (who is also with her in Heaven), Eddie Green, and Reagan Quinn), nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Beth’s heart and home was full.
Beth is Survived by her daughters Rena Shivar and her husband Glenn, Rhonda Green, Tina Quinn and her husband, Mike, their many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Aside from the children she doted on, Beth is survived by two sisters, Ruth Nome Layton and Carol Eason and three devoted care-givers, Dianna Ade, Terry Hall, and Katheren Henry.
Services in celebration of the life of Beth will be held on June 9, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S Ft Hood Street, Killeen, TX. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.
My Beautiful Momma.
It’s time to fly away, mama. Your work for us is done.
No more pain or suffering. The battle you have won.
So glad we were there when the angels came,
for now, we know things for you will never be the same.
So run to that ole Jordan where your Savior waits for you,
I’m sure He brought a little red-haired guy that can’t wait to see you too!
So, shout “Hallelujah!” Hold tight to that nail scarred hand and watch the glory of Heaven unfold.
He’ll show where the milk and honeys flows
and the streets that you’ll walk upon are surely made of gold.
So, as we all say “goodbye”, we love and wish you well.
And though we’re sad and lonely, its only for a spell.
We’ll continue to live our lives the way
you and Chief have taught us to,
and long for the day
when we can see you both again!
Glenn Shivar
