Brittany-Maria L. Hawthorne

Brittany attended Ellison High School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School, where she graduated in 2007.

She danced through high school and cheered for both schools. Brittany continued her education at Temple College and Austin Community College. She taught Continuing Catholic Education (CCE) for a little over 10 years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen, TX. She was an active member of the Carpenter’s Crew Youth Group through the beginning of college and volunteered during her high school summers at Scott and White Hospital in various capacities.

Brittany loved spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies. She was a huge Disney, Harry Potter, and Marvel fan. One of the many things I loved about her is her confidence in who she was and what she loved #noshameinDisney! Brittany was an “old soul” with a wisdom beyond her years. She was beautiful daughter, sister, and friend. She loved fiercely taking care of us and much as we took care of her. She would fight with and for those she loved. She made herself available whenever someone needed her. She had strength and courage beyond measure that inspired many. Brittany was willing to share her story if she thought it would help someone else. She did not let my or her medical team’s concerns slow her down, living her life to the fullest.

Brittany is survived by her mother, Royal; brother, Brandon; and many beloved relatives and friends.
