

Carolyn Maxine Cox was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Carolyn will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Simply stated, Carolyn was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Carolyn leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Carolyn Maxine Cox.
Services for Carolyn Maxine (Whitley) Cox, 77, will be 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
Carolyn passed away April 29th in Temple. She was born on October 2, 1940 in Georgetown, Texas to Robert D. and Lula Mae "Mawmaw" Whitley. Carolyn married Billie Don Cox on May 8, 1959. This union produced three boys. In 1973, Carolyn started working for George Franz, D.D.S. in downtown Killeen. She continued working in the same dental office when Brian Battershell, D.D. S. took over, until they retired in March of 2017.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Joyce Hughes; her mother, Lula Mae Whitley and her father, Robert David Whitley. She is survived by her husband, Billie Don Cox and three sons; Billie Don "Rusty" Cox, Jr. and his family, David Neal Cox and his family, and Michael Wayne "Shorty" Cox and his family. Carolyn has eight (8) grandchildren and eight (8) great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
