Clara Elizabeth Frost

Clara Frost, 81, of Copperas Cove passed away December 29, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Clara was born in Eagleville, MO to Joshua Mathis and Orpha Myrtle (York) Mathis on February 2, 1938. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on January 7, 2019 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, Texas.

Clara was born and raised by a strong Christian family and attended the Church of Christ in Eagleville, MO where she was baptized into Christ in her youth. Clara was a homemaker, nurse aide and did home health care most of her life. She loved to garden, was very talented in crafting, crocheting and even tried her hand at writing. She loved to fish and just had an all around love for the outdoors. Clara spent many of her last years in Hill Country Nursing and Rehab Center in Copperas Cove and grew her family exponentially, adopting her care givers and their children as her own. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Myrtle Mathis, her sister, Bernice Sweeten, her brother, George Wayne (Bub) Mathis, sister, Ella Belle Shackleton and one grandson, Joshua Barbee. She is survived by her older sister Sarah Fish of MO, her three children, son, Steve Davis and his wife Karen of Oklahoma, daughter, Rhonda Miller of Oklahoma, daughter Donna Hines and husband Leslie of Texas, eight grandchildren, Larry Barbee, April Miller, Tiffany Park, Amanda Davis, Trenton Davis, Danyell Miller, Jared Hines and Erika Miller, 9 great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Brishen, Elijah, Jamison, Payton, Anthony, Alyssa, Christian and Vladimir, two great-great Grandchildren, Ashton and Ashlynn and many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was loved by all. She will be sorely missed.
