

Claude was born October 31, 1916 in Eden, Texas to Claude, Sr. and Jettie Cave. He attended New Mexico State University and was a WW II veteran. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and served for five years. He was a former member of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), private contractor with the Government for ten years and served government civil service. Claude was very proud of his service to his country.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nellie Rodgers Cave. They were married on May 27, 1950 in Melvin, Texas; Also survived by his son, Carmon William (Bill) Cave and wife Debbie; daughter, Beverly Sue Brown-Hebert and husband Max; grandchildren: Jonathon Travis Brown and wife Thuy, Jennifer Koret and husband Guy, Jodi Brown, Christi Roberts and husband Jeremy, Billy Cave, Chris Cave, Chris Castillo; eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 in the evening on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Killeen, TX. A funeral Service will be 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday, June 11, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Florence with the interment to follow in Maxdale Cemetery where we will honor the life and service of Mr. Cave with military honors.
