

Danny Cummings, born on August 8, 1946 at Camp Hood, He will be dearly missed by his loving family and numerous friends, including his niece Megan Leighman and her husband Michael Leighman, his brother BJ Cummings, his sister-in-law Pat Cummings. His departure also reconnected him with his beloved parents, Margie and Leo Cummings, who preceded him in death.
Danny spent his childhood as an Army brat and was with his father and family at Ft Hood, Ft Knox and Schwaebisch Hall Germany.
Danny had a distinguished career, starting in 1964 when he joined the Air Force and worked in electronics. Later, in 1967, he moved on to Centel Phone Company where he worked as a lineman. In 1984, he began a career with Nortel in telecommunications, where he remained until his retirement in 2010 as Senior Software/Hardware Support Engineer. Through his work, Danny showcased an unwavering dedication and unmatched professionalism.
Known for his adventurous palate, Danny held a special fondness for Whataburger, tacos, and the unexpected kick of sour candies. He had an appreciation for country music and action/adventure movies, both of which he enjoyed in his free time. An enthusiast of Harley motorcycles, Danny relished touring on his Harley through the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Ozarks of Arkansas and attending Harley rallies.
In addition to his love for Harley motorcycles, Danny also expressed his love for Harley colors. His recreational interests included photography, RC aircraft, and all things computer-related, showcasing his diverse palette of hobbies and interests. His favorite vacation spots were Australia and South Dakota, locations that provided him with moments of respite and relaxation.
Danny was known by many as kind, considerate, respectful and protective. He was a brother not only to family but also to many friends. He had a mischievous grin, witty demeanor and love for a good time that will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Danny will be held on August 22, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. A graveside service for Danny will be held August 23rd at 1 PM at Killeen City Cemetery. We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of a man who loved deeply, lived passionately, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
