

He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1995. On July 18, 1998, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Livia Liza Ochoa in Copperas Cove, Texas.
Darrell enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1997. While stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, he graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Through the blue to green program, he became an officer in the United States Army.
After leaving the Army, he spent six years as an agent with the United States Border Patrol, stationed in Laredo, Texas. After moving back to the Central Texas area, he graduated from the Central Texas Regional Police Academy. He worked for the Kempner Police Department and was currently serving as a Sergeant with the Criminal Investigative Division of the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office.
Darrell enjoyed spending time with his cherished family. He was an avid hunter and delighted in riding his motorcycle with this wife.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob McDonald.
He is survived by Livia, his wife of 23 years. His son, Dylan McDonald of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; his daughter, Dorianne McDonald of Kempner, Texas and his mother, Becky McDonald of Kempner, Texas. He is survived by two brothers, Willy McDonald of Morgans Point, and Bobby McDonald of Laredo, Texas. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Noe and Sandra Ochoa of Copperas Cove, his brother-in-laws Pedro Ochoa of Copperas Cove and Joseph Ochoa (Mellissa) Ochoa of Cheney, Washington and nephew, Tanner Ochoa and niece, Peyton Ochoa.
A lie in repose for Darrell will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, Texas. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 9:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove, 300 W Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas. Interments service will follow with Military, Masonic and Police Honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
