Edith "Sally" C. Snowden

Mrs. Snowden passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 in a Temple hospital.

Edith Claudine was born November 8, 1936 in Chilton, TX to Lubbie and Willie Mae (Williams) White.

Edith graduated from Moore High School in Waco in 1955.

She was a member of AARP, the Bob Gilmore Senior Citizens Center, Retired Teachers Association and received a plaque for Usher of The Year from the Usher Board of Greater Peace Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marcus Aurelius Snowden Nov.10, 2009; a daughter, Yolanda Snowden in 2008; a sister, Marva Austin; two brothers Lubbie White Jr. and James “Jack” White and a brother-in-law, Mamon Snowden.

Survivors include a son, Byron Snowden of Hayward, CA; two brothers, Willard White of Hobbs, NM and Jim White of Stockton, CA; one sister, Carrie Williams of Hobbs, NM; and three sisters-in-law, Corine White of San Francisco, CA, Lavon White of Lathrop, CA, and Ruth Lewis of Atlanta, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Lupus Foundation or the Kidney Disease Foundation.

The family will accept friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
