Emanuel O Godwin

Mr. Emanuel O. Godwin's silver wings were made gold on August 18, 2025.

He was one of six children born to Phillip and Elizabeth Yon Godwin on May 31,1930 in Pensacola Florida.

Emanuel served in the army for 22 years as a cook. He was stationed in Missouri twice, Germany, Hawaii, Vietnam, Texas Korea, and Kentucky. After retirement he worked as a plumber for TCOM and many other jobs over the years. Dad was a hard working man and always there with a helping hand for all.

Dad was a longtime member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church of Killeen, TX

He and his wife Leita of 71 years loved to square and round dance. They were members of the Texas Founding, the Texas Cut-A-Rounders, and the Killeen Kickers. Along with dancing he loved to garden, fish and build things. He was always there to help his family in anyway he could. He enjoyed having big family meals and seeing the family altogether.

Emanuel is preceded in death by his wife Leita Godwin, son Emanuel/Ryan (Randy) Godwin, granddaughter Tammy William, great-great grandson Caleb Godwin Icmat.

He was loved by many and is survived by his daughters, Lynn, Jeanie, and Cathy, 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family graciously request donation be made in Emanuel’s name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at CFF.org or St Jude’s.
