.Estelle Marjorie Johle Henze, born April 17, 1927, passed peacefully away surrounded by family and friends on February 15, 2017. She was a wonderful mom, a so-cool MiMi and, as told to her by one of her granddaughters and one of her great-granddaughters, an “amazing person.” She did love the kids.
Proverbs 17:6 … Children’s children are a crown to the aged and parents are a pride to their children
Estelle was a dedicated member of Good Shepherd Ministries in Buda, Texas. She especially enjoyed the uplifting music selections. At times, she was known to “stomp her feet, along with the beat.”
She thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors. In her younger years, Estelle was an avid hunter and fisherwoman, accompanying her husband (Herman Henze) on numerous adventures to the deer lease and many lakes all over Texas. Estelle calmed down a bit in her later years and came to enjoy morning walks, her time in her famous flower gardens and doing beautiful, beautiful handwork. When not doing any of the above, she was constantly doing crossword puzzles!!! Seriously, her hands were never idle!
Estelle was an upstanding and well known member of the community for 60 years. She, along with her husband of 60 years, owned and operated Killeen Texaco and Auto Electric for over 40 years. She worked with the Killeen Fire Department in many aspects and was a long-time member of the Killeen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She retired after 25 years of service with the KFD, as did Herman.
