Herlinda Hernandez

Herlinda (Linda) Hernandez (nee Longoria), beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, at the age of 79. Born in Bay City, TX, Linda lived in many locations supporting her husband’s military and government career. They settled in Killeen, TX, where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Married in December 1961, Linda is survived by Robert, her husband of 62 years; their children: Natalie Ann Uren of Auckland, New Zealand; Ursula Sturgeon (Tony) of Gulfport, MS; Linda Lougee of Thornton, CO; Bob Vincent Hernandez (David) of Tallahassee, FL; and Kathryn Marie Ravelo of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her sister Lillie Sanchez (Frank) of Angleton, TX, longtime friend Eva McGraw, and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel Longoria and Catarina Rodriguez Longoria; brothers: Manuel Jr., Richard, Manuel III (Meme), Rudy; and sisters: Anita, Petra, Irene, Angelita, Otelia; and her dear friend Maisie Breeden.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

A Rosary / Mass for Herlinda will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 3:00 PM at St. Paul's Chong Hasang Catholic Church. A Committal Service will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
