Hilda Kay Howard

Hilda and her family immigrated to the United States in 1951. Hilda graduated from Horlick High School in Racine, WI, in 1966 and moved to TX that same year. There, she met her husband Rickey Howard, and they married in 1971. For many years Hilda was a civil servant working primarily in medical records and she retired from UTMB in 2014.

Hilda is survived by her by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Luke Hubbs of Salado, TX, her son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Carrie Jo Howard of Belton, TX, her four grandchildren, Tyler, Kylee, Noah and Emma Kate, her sister Erica Norwood, many nieces and nephews, and her dogs Ginger and Panda.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Sofia Michalenko, her husband of 26 years Rickey Howard, her brother Michael Michalenko, and her sister Angela Wylie.

Hilda was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for her grandkids, her dogs and bingo. She loved to travel with her family and was present for all activities where her grandkids were involved .

A celebration of Hilda’s life will take place on Monday, July 22nd at 10a.m. at Crawford Bowers funeral home in Killeen, TX. Interment will follow in the Killeen City Cemetery.
