

Services for Mr. Hooks will be held on Friday September 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Imperial Gardens Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado.
Howard was born on October 7, 1936 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to James and Mary Jones Hooks. He grew up in Colorado and joined the Air Force in 1954. He later graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Pueblo Jr. College. Mr. Hooks worked for Rockwool Industries and moved to the Belton area in the early 1980’s.He later worked as a Civil Engineer for the Corps of Engineers at Ft. Hood until his retirement in 1998.
Mr. Hooks was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson, Scott Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hooks of Belton, daughters Christine Hooks, Tammy Jones, Laura Milton, and Janet Taylor, step-daughters Casey Finney and Kelly Grimes, and step-sons Billy Smith, Bobby Smith, and Steve Bruton, as well as 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local no-kill shelter for pets, Free Pentecostal Church in Belton, and the American Cancer Society.
