

Funeral services for Jackie Clay Shields76, of Killeen will be on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park with full military honors.
Mr. Shields was born April 19, 1938 in Clover Lick, W. VA to Carl and Catherine Grimes Shields. He passed away on June 14, 2014 in Killeen.
He retired from the Army in 1983 with the rank of MSG after serving 22 years which included four years in the Marine Corp. While on active duty he earned the following ribbons and medals: Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon Numeral 3; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver and 2 Bronze Stars; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal w/Silver 1 Loop; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Humanitarian Service Medal; Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal First Class; NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numeral 4 and Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from Civil Service at Ft Hood and retired after 22 years Cost Guard Aux.
He was preceded in death by first wife Patsy Shields, Baby Girl Shields and a Daughter Cherri Gilbreath.
Survivors include his wife Yvonne Shields, children: T.J. and wife Cat and Ann and Frank , Six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers Randal and wife Judy Shields and Pastor Robert and wife Pastor Betty Jean Shields, and a sister Carolyn Shields, three nieces and five nephews.
There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the funeral home from 6 PM – 8PM.
