Jimmy Dale King

Jimmy Dale King departed to receive his new heavenly body with the Lord, Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 12:28 p.m. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 45 years and his four children as he passed from this life into his eternal home.

Jim was born March 29, 1941 to Roy and Louise King. He attended Texas Tech University and went on to graduate with a Dental Degree from the University of Texas Dental School. Jim met and married the love of his life, Sonja and were blessed with four beautiful children.

Jim served his country faithfully for over 20 years in the US Navy, the US Navy Reserves and the US Army. He retired from the US Army as a LTC in 1995 and continued his career as a Dentist for the University of Texas Medical branch.

In his recent years he enjoyed traveling, vacationing in beautiful state parks and celebrating life’s joys with his grandchildren. He lived a full life surrounded by family, love, laughter and eternal hope. He will always be remembered for his dry, quick wit regardless of circumstances and for his lavish generosity.

He is survived by his wife, Sonja King, daughter Denise King Strickland, sons, Stephen King and Daniel King, daughter, Annette King Hiller and their spouses and children. His life and memory will be cherished by his family including his 11 grandchildren.
