

Joseph William "Bill" Pipkin, age 80, of Florence, TX passed away on April 21, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1944, in Williamson County to Charles Edison Pipkin and Minnie Baker Pipkin. He was a graduate of Florence High School, Class of 1963.
Bill was employed for 40+ years with Atmos Energy and retired with the company in 2009. A man of few words but with deep conviction, Bill spent his life doing what he loved most - hunting, fishing, gardening, and being a part of the outdoors. Whether out on a cold, crisp morning hunt or casting a line in a peaceful river, he felt most at peace when surrounded by the natural world. Bill's love for the outdoors was more than just a pastime; it was a way of life, one that he loved to share with his family and friends. Many memories were made around stories of hunting trips and countless outdoor adventures which will be cherished forever.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Barton Pipkin and his parents. He is survived by his step-daughters, Tamara (Jeff) Brown and Tara (Shane) Moger; sisters, Janet Pipkin and Anna Raye Manning; and nephews, Robert Scott (Cindy) and Eric Manning.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, TX on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be a Graveside Service at the Salado Cemetery Pavilion on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00AM.
