A Celebration of Life for LaRue Davis Cowan 85, formally of Killeen will be Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen at 1230 PM. She passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 in Georgetown.
Mrs. Cowan was born in Youngsport on March 27, 1934 to Dennis Carl Davis and Nevada Davis. She attended school in Killeen and attended TCU where she earned her LVN degree.
She married M.J. Cowan November 27, 1952 at First Baptist Church of Killeen. She had 3 children Rick, Donna and Jan born to her marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband M. J. Cowan, daughter Donna Cowan Brown, a brother Bill Davis and brother-in-law James Stringer.
Survivors are children Rick and Karen Cowan, Jan and David Shapiro, her sister Rebecca Stringer, her sister-in- law Jennie Davis, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1130 AM to 1230 PM at the funeral home on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
The family request that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Ranier Hospice or a charity of your choice.
