

Mrs. Parker died peacefully Aug. 5, 2016, with her daughters at her side.
Leona Louise Crixell Parker was born on June 29, 1928, to Luis Crixell and Leona Coates Crixell in Brownsville. As a teen, she moved to Oklahoma, where, on a blind date set up by her brother, met the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Parker. They were married Jan. 21, 1945, while Cissie was a senior in high school. They were married 62 years at the time of his passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Parker; her parents; two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her three loving daughters and sons-in-law, Nina Parker Bible (Odis) and Genie Parker Connell (Matt) of Killeen and Paula Parker Ingram (Jay) of Highland Village; six beloved grandchildren, Chris Bible of Austin, Joshua Connell of Temple, Zac Ingram of Austin, Catie Connell Cortez of Gentry, Ark., Kavan Ingram of Arlington and Sarah Connell of Killeen; and her precious great-granddaughter, Penelope Connell of Temple. She is also survived by brother-in- law, Frank Parker, and his wife, Carolyn, of Brownsville; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family would like to thank Bluebonnet Hospice Health Service and Visiting Angels for their excellent and loving care of our mother.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
