Lottie was raised in the Delta of Mississippi, and as the oldest daughter she helped raise her siblings while their mother worked in the fields. She was considered by most the second mother or “Mama Lottie”. Her beautiful personality was shown through her actions, empathy, kindness, generosity, authenticity, and genuine warmth that made it enjoyable to be around. She traveled the world with her husband during his military service. She was a devoted mother and wife and a good friend. She cared for everyone she had in her life, leaving an everlasting impression on everyone she encountered. She provided a wealth of knowledge about history, holistic healing through plants, and guidance while uplifting your spirits at the same time. She loved to love people so much that she became a foster parent through the state of Texas Child Protective Services and through private agencies in Austin. She knew that there were so many kids still in the system that needed to be loved so spread the word with everybody she could to become foster parents. She never asked for much in return but what she did ask for was for everyone to be kind to each other, make sure nobody goes hungry, be right with God, and most important to her was to get your education.
