Marvin E. Hines

Funeral services for Marvin E. Hines, 71, of Nolanville will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church in Nolanville. Burial with military honors will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville.

He was born on August 3, 1941 to John and Midgett Hines in Cypress, Texas. He passed away on September 7, 2012 in Harker Heights.

He served in the US Army retiring in 1979 at the Rank of SFC and had served in Vietnam. He was a member of the following organizations: Nolanville Vol. Fire Dept 1971 to 1983: Nolanville Police Department 1971 to 1979: Nolanville City Council 1979 to 1980 and was Mayor from 1980 to 1982: Member if WCID Board of Directors: Member if Nolanville First Baptist Church. He also owned and operated Hines Small Engines in Madisonville and Nolanville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Eddie Hines and a brother James Hines.

Survivors include his wife Gesina (Sherry) Hines, sons Robert Hines and wife Cheriea and Scott Hines and wife Anita, daughter Denise Hines, daughter-in-law Ronda Hines , brother Milton Hines and a sister Elaine Sonntag. Also his grandchildren Andrew, Zachary, Robert Hines, Seth Little, Abigail, Meg, Emily Hines and Skylar Hines-Little.

The family will receive friends at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Monday, September 10, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
