Maude Munford Munford Peters

Funeral services for Maude Munford Peters 91, of Harker Heights will be Friday July 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow with a private service at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Peters was born October 2, 1921 in Cedar City, UT to Thomas William Munford and Mary Ann Cox Smith Munford. She passed away on June 30, 2013 in Harker Heights, Texas. She grew up on a farm in UT with three sisters and four brothers doing all kinds of jobs on the farm. She later worked as a waitress at a restraint in Salt Lake before joining the army. During WW II she was in the army and severed as a photographer and rose to the rank of Sgt. After her marriage she was a home maker and reared a family with her husband who traveled to many different places during his army career.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy James Peter, and her parents. Survivors include sons Allen Leroy Peters and Russell Carl Peters, a daughter Gayle Mandley.

There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 10:00 Am to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home in Killeen.

The family would like to thank the staff of Scott & White Hospital and Scott & White Home Health for all the care they gave Mrs. Peters during her illness.
