Pat passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 21, 1938 to Harold Gronseth and Geraldine “Gerri” Voit in Bremerton, Washington. As a young woman, Pat worked as a secretary. One day as she was leaving the office, she saw a “cute” young soldier and the love story began. She married the love of her life, Guadalupe “Lupe” Izaguirre, on October 6, 1960 in Seattle, Washington. Lupe’s duty took him and his bride to Juneau, Alaska where they welcomed their first-born, Joseph William. Pat’s family then moved to Fort Dix, NJ where they welcomed their second child, Angela Marie, and their third child, Thomas David.
In 1968, Pat and family moved to Fort Hood, Texas where they decided to stay. Pat joined Central Christian Church in Killeen. She was very involved with her church; she played the piano, the organ, and was a Board member of the church. She worked for KISD for a short time while her children were in school. Then, she worked for the City of Killeen as a Benefits Coordinator until she retired. She remained active, she enjoyed monthly luncheons with her ladies from the City, she loved gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
As a mother, she never missed her child’s sporting events. And she was a mother to many of her children’s friends! As a grandmother, she made many memories! She taught her grandchildren how to play Yahtzee and various card games, including penny poker. Pat suffered from Alzheimer’s and so it was a slow goodbye. Even in her final stages, she continued to worship the Lord and sing her favorite gospels!
On September 20, 2023, Pat was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her beloved husband, Lupe, and her daughter, Angela Marie, and her parents, Harold Gronseth, Gerri Gronseth and step-mom, Edith Gronseth.
Survived by her beloved sons Joseph (Jacqueline) and Thomas (Exie), son-in-law David Driver, all of Harker Heights. Surviving grandchildren include Mitch Driver (Ashley) of Georgetown, Jerrad Izaguirre of Belton, Patsy Izaguirre of Harker Heights, Daniel Driver (Katie) of Belton, Alex Izaguirre (Cassie) of Belton, Jordan Izaguirre of Harker Heights, Jacob Lange (Krystle) of Killeen, and Dillon Lange (Alicia) of Killeen. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Gronseth (Barbara) of Forks, WA. Pat was also blessed with eleven (11) great-grandchildren Savvy Izaguirre, Finnley Izaguirre, Conder Izaguirre, Davie Izaguirre, Quinn Driver, Declan Driver, Evee Izaguirre, Camilla Izaguirre, Brody Lange, Blakely Lange, and baby girl Driver on the way.
