With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ralph Junior Heim Sr.,age 87, a devoted father, loving brother, and dedicated servant of his country, left this world on June 7, 2025. Ralph’s life was a shining example of dedication, resilience, and unconditional love—qualities that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Born to Verna and Jeremiah Heim in Treverton, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1937. Ralph’s journey began amidst the warmth of a close-knit family and community. His unwavering commitment to service led him to a distinguished career in the United States Army, where he served honorably from 1955 through 1975, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. Throughout his military career, Ralph exemplified integrity, courage, and loyalty—values that he carried into every aspect of his life.
Following his retirement from the Army, Ralph’s work ethic remained steadfast. He worked tirelessly in various roles, including auto repair, owning Ralph's Drive-In Market, and operating his own car transport company, P&R Driving. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to providing for his family were evident in all he undertook.
Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis K. Heim; his parents, Verna and Jeremiah; his sisters Isabelle, Charlotte, and Doris; and his brothers Warren and Leonard. Despite life’s hardships, his resilient spirit and unwavering love for his family remained his guiding light.
He is survived by his loyal sister, Laura Walburn of Pennsylvania, and a large, loving family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who cherish his memory:
- **Children:** Denise and Scott Webb (Texas), Diana and Ray Graham (South Carolina), Darlene and Ben Tharaldson (Texas), Ralph Jr. Heim and Maria Garrido (Virginia), Sheryl and John Kelly (Texas), Crystal and Jax Wheeler (Texas), Mary Jo and Mitch Rose (Texas).
- **Grandchildren:** Belinda, Michael, Frank, Janet, Sunnie, Ryan, Aunna, Erin, Britney, Devyn, Rorrie, Fierra, Janey, Bobby Jr., Wyatt, Ethan & Evan (twins), and Emily.
- **Great-grandchildren:** Twenty-five beloved grandchildren who brought him immense joy and love in his later years.
Ralph’s life was a testament to service, perseverance, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on through his family, whose lives he touched profoundly. We are forever grateful for his sacrifices and the love he shared with us all.
A visitation for Ralph will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Tueaday, June 17th, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas.
