

Memorial services for Ray Dean Mintz, 71 of Killeen will be Saturday November 5, 2011 at 1 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Mr. Mintz was born July 18, 1940 in Decatur, Ark and passed away on October 29, 2011 in Killeen.
He married Carol Newton on July 21, 1957 in Miami, OK. He served in the Armed Forces for 20 years retiring as a SFC. He earned the following ribbons and medals: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Combat Infantryman Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Expert Badge (Rifle), Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award , Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Meritorious Service Medal.
He received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from American Technological University. He worked for Texas Department of Corrections for 18 years. He was a member of DAV Chapter 29 and National Rifle Association.
Survivors are his Wife Carol of Killeen, daughters Leslie Mintz, Dawna Mintz both of Killeen and Renee Finch and husband Dan of Fairview, and two grandchildren.
