SSG (Ret.) Enrique Medina

Enrique Medina passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Temple TX in the care of his loving family. He was born on August 6, 1962 in El Paso, TX to Miguel Medina and Eufemia (Garcia) Medina.

Enrique married his elementary school sweetheart Irene Tellez. After graduating high school, Enrique joined the US Army.

During his enlistment in the Army, Enrique served with numerous units to include 1BN-9th INF Manchu's. SSG (Ret.) Medina was a Veteran of The Gulf War. Some of his military awards include the Bronze Star medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Enrique’s enjoyed pastimes like APA Pool, cars, and traveling. But family time was by far his favorite pastime. He and his family could be found cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoons.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Francisco Medina and his father–in-law, Armando Tellez.

SSG (Ret.) Enrique Medina will forever be loved by his wife of 32 years, Irene Medina.

He is also survived by his parents; Miguel and Eufemia Medina; 3 children; Nicole Medina Hicks (Lloyd), Enrique Alexander Medina and Felipe Martinez. 2 brothers; Miguel and Luis Medina and 3 sisters; Cecilia Poe, Rosa Salinas and Susana Gomez.

Enrique also leaves to cherish many memories 2 grandchildren; Victoria Hicks and Lloyd Hayden Hicks IV and many nieces and nephews.

The Medina family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 11AM – 1 PM in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. Burial will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full Military honors.
