Robert “Bob” Marcian Baza Quinene passed away on 15 August 2025 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on November 18, 1946, in Guam to Senator Jesus Reyes and Rosa Baza Quinene, who instilled in him the values of faith, hard work, and family that would guide him throughout his life.
In 1966, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. Over the next 20 years, he dedicated his life to the service of his nation, including combat service during the Vietnam War. His honorable career culminated in his retirement as a respected leader who not only defended his country but also mentored and shaped future generations of soldiers.
In 1971, Bob met the love of his life, Delia, and they were married the following year. Their union was a testament to enduring love, faith, and commitment. Together, they raised two children, Robert and David, and built a strong, faith-filled family anchored in love and tradition. Even after retiring from the Army, his dedication to service never wavered. Bob remained an active member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Chamorro Association of Central Texas, where he continued to serve his fellow veterans, his community, and his heritage. He was a man known for his humility, honor, and integrity—forever guided by his devotion to God, family, and country. What Bob cherished most, however, was his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to his days.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; siblings AnnieMae San Nicolas, RoseMarie Tupaz, Frederick Quinene, and Ronald Quinene; father-in-law Fernando Concha; daughter-in-law Monica; grandson Aidan; and siblings-in-law Francisco Tupaz, Jose Aguon, and Cecilia Quinene. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Delia; sons Robert (Jennifer) and David (Meredith); grandchildren Isabella, Jacob, Robert, Liliana, Olivia, Lilian, and Henry; sisters Loretta Matanane (Frankie), Bertha Barcinas (Richard), Victoria Aguon, and Cecelia Suarez (Eduardo); mother-in-law Rose Concha; siblings-in-law Maria Quinene, Juan San Nicolas, and Fernando Concha (Veronica); plus countless cousins, nieces/nephews, and friends.
Bob will be remembered as a proud Chamorro, faithful servant of God, decorated veteran, pillar of his community, and most importantly, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy of love and service will endure through the many lives he touched.
