

Mr. Adams grew up in Killeen and attended all 12 years of school in the Killeen ISD. He attended East Ward Elementary, Rancier Junior High, and Killeen High School. He graduated in the Class of 1973 and was a proud member of his reunion group. Roy Dale went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos (now Texas State University). He began his career in education as a coach and math teacher at Clear Creek High School in Webster, Texas, and eventually retired as an administrator with the Deer Park Independent School District in the Houston area. He returned to Killeen in 2016 after the death of his Mother to assist in the care of his Father. Before and after retirement, Roy Dale’s hobbies included golf, gardening, and spending time with his friends. Prior to his illness, he was working part time at Killeen’s Stonetree Golf Course.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Chance Ryan Adams, of Killeen, his brother, Gordon G. Adams and wife, Barbara, of Salado, and his nephew, Michael Adams, of Belton. Roy Dale is also survived by several cousins and their families.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen, Texas. No additional services will follow. Mr. Adams donated his body for medical and scientific research. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Killeen ISD Educational Foundation in Roy Dale’s name. The family would also like to thank Scott and White Hospice for their care and compassion.
