Ruby Childers, 66, of Florence, passed away at home from lung cancer on Wednesday, October 19, surrounded by her family. Ruby was born on July 23, 1945 to Grady Lee Mather and Pauline Dephna Glosson. On October 22, a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with a Graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Sharp Cemetery off of Highway 195 between Killeen and Florence.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Cecil “Spike” Childers of Florence; survivors include daughter Crystal Childers of Portland, Oregon; sister Shirley Hays and husband Glen Hays; half-brother Kittrell Mather; niece Sherry Montemayor and Edward Brewster; niece Becky Myers and husband Gene Myers; four great-nieces Valerie Johnson, Jaime Monte mayor, Madison Myers and Baylie Brewster.
