Samuel "Sam" E. Lyons

Sam was born August 12, 1953 in McCarthur, Ohio.

Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He dedicated 36 years working with civil service as an electrician. He was a mason with lodge 1125. Sam had a love for fishing as well as music. He played bass and even sang a tune here and there. His greatest love was his family especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his loving wife, Felis Lyons. Sam and Felis were long time friends and continued that friendship through 37 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons, Larry J. Carranco and his wife Adrianna and Samuel E. Lyons, Jr. and his wife Silvia; his mother; two sisters; grandchildren: Elizabeth Quezada, Samantha Lyons, Kayle Carranco and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 in the evening on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 on Wednesday following the visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 in the morning on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen. Interment will follow in Florence Cemetery.
