Sheila A. Churchman

With her father being in the US military, Sheila moved often growing up, including a time spent in Germany. In 1965, she graduated from Killeen High School.

In December of 1971, Sheila took a 6 month temporary assignment as a dental assistant on Fort Hood. After 42 years of service, she retired from that assignment in December of 2013. In 1988, Sheila served as President of the Texas Dental Assistant Association.

Sheila was a member of Skyline Baptist Church of Killeen where she was baptized in April of 2010. She enjoyed shopping every Saturday with her mother at the Killeen Mall, visiting with her bible study group, spending time with family and friends, and watching her son and granddaughters play sports.

Sheila is preceded in death by her parents Alfred Leo “Nick” Nichols and Doris Nichols, and brother Gordon Nichols.

She is survived by her son Ron Churchman (Stephanie), sister-in-law Pam Nichols, granddaughters Emily and Lily Churchman, nieces Amanda Gruenthal (Adam) and Jessica Haecker (Todd), five great nieces, and one great nephew.

A visitation for Sheila will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 South Fort Hood Road, Killeen, TX, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Killeen City Cemetery. Rev. Ashley Payne of Skyline Baptist Church will officiate services.
