

Services for Retired Staff Sergeant Terry Ray Vance, 67, of Nolanville, Texas will be 12:30PM Thursday June 3, 2021 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas. Inurnment will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Military Honors.
Retired Staff Sergeant Terry Ray Vance was born August 24, 1953 in Madison West Virginia and passed away May 20 2021 at the Olan E Teague Veterans Hospital in Temple Texas.
Terry was a kind and caring man that dedicated his life to his family and friends. If he met you once, he loved you and that's all it took. Terry Ray was a patriotic man that proudly served Our Country. Terry enlisted in the United States Army on September 28, 1971 and proudly served his country for 20 years 1 month and 3 days. He retired October 31, 1991. He spent the majority of his enlistment in Hohenfels Germany.
He received many medals and ribbons throughout his career including a National Defense Service Medal with Service Star/NCO, 2 Oak leaf cluster medals for Meritorious Achievement. That's to list a few. Terry was a paratrooper, a unit supply specialist for 16 years and 7 months. He was also a Transport Chief Operator for 15 years and 10 months. After retirement, he made Nolanville Texas his home, where he was very active in his community and loved by many. He enjoyed traveling across country, reading, and spending time with the ones he loved.
He was proceeded in death by his birth father Cleo Vance and one step brother Dedo Workman.
Survivors Include: Max Vance of the home, mother and father, Shirley and Charles Workman of Mulberry Florida, 2 sisters, Sherri Vance of Pueblo West Colorado and Cindy Timian of Alabama; 1 brother, Teddy Vance of Alabama, nieces and nephews, Kyle Vance, Allesha Byrd, Mick Heberly, David English, Joe Baca, David Workman, Tyler Workman, Whitney Workman, and Eric Pate.. Terry had a very big extended family, to many to list but know he loved everyone he ever met.
