Thomas Wayne Potter

Funeral services for CW-5 Ret. Thomas Wayne Potter 72, of Killeen will be on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at 3 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

He was born May 7, 1949 in Houston and passed on March 14, 2022 in Killeen, Tx. He was the oldest of four children born to Tom and Norma Potter. Tom’s first love was flying, which he began in high school and continued for an additional 30 years in the Army, becoming the Army’s first Apache Pilot where he also attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5 or “Unicorn” of the Army.

He loved his family, bass fishing, golf, and a good glass of bourbon with a cigar on a fine Texas evening.

Tom is survived by his wife Shelle, son Nick, daughter Angela and their families; his brother Bob and his sister Cindy and their families; plus his cat Maxwell.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Tx.
