Vance Thomas Delano Jr.

Graveside services for Vance Thomas "JR" Delano Jr., 39, of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Delano died Jan. 17, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 28, 1971, in Homestead, Fla., to Vance Thomas Delano Sr. and Nelda Arlene (Kelly) Delano.

Mr. Delano was the manager of D&D Body Shop in Killeen at the time of his death.

He was an avid University of Texas football fan to put it mildly. He enjoyed attending and supporting the program through the alumni program at the university of which he was a member.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nelda Arlene Delano, in 2008; and his son, Frederick Delano.

Survivors include his father, Vance Thomas Delano Sr. of Killeen; a daughter, Shelby Delano of Killeen; sister, Lisa Tuckwood and her husband, Brian, of Columbia, S.C.; two nieces, Alexandria Tuckwood and Kerrianne Tuckwood, both of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
