Willie Lee Moore Newton

Mrs. Willie Lee Newton, daughter or Edgar Moore and Ruthie Moore, was born on March 10, 1949 in Selma, Alabama. Willie received her education in the Selma school system. Soon after school she and her family moved to Los Angeles, California. She had a daughter Kimberly Moore soon after she joined the United States Army reporting to Homestead AFB, Florida in service of her country. She met and married Amos N. Newton and traveled different parts of the world as an Army wife. She was also employed as a DOD employee yielding 17yrs of faithful service. From the union came two children son Amos Newton II and daughter Shanae Newton. Willie settled at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas in 1989. She retired from work in 1996 after being diagnosed with Lupus. Willie struggled with the disease for more than 14 yrs. After a long hard fight with the disease, it finally claimed her life on Dec 3, 2010.

She leaves behind a devoted and loving husband Amos Newton, daughter Kimberly Moore, son Amos Newton II, and daughter Shanae Newton, mother Ruthie Moore, brothers Edgar Moore, Arthur Moore, and Steve Moore, sisters, Annie Ruth Jones, Maggie White, and Cathy McDonald four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
