Carmen was a devoted wife, having shared her life in marriage with Paul Carroll for 47 years until his passing, and later with Theodore Elliott for 8 years, until his death.
A woman of many talents and deep resilience, Carmen served her community in several roles over the years — as a cafeteria worker in Sheldon ISD, where she brought warmth and kindness to students and staff alike; as an x-ray technician; and as a licensed beautician. Her work reflected her compassion, dedication, and the joy she found in caring for others.
Carmen had a special gift for gardening and was especially passionate about growing roses. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing heart — vibrant, beautiful, and full of life.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Tina Arnold (Phil) of Kingwood, TX; Verna Rummel of Austin, TX; and Kim Havens of Canyon Lake, TX; her sisters, Nidia Treviño and Irma Ochoa; and 21 beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Victor Carroll and Gary Carroll, both of Houston, TX; her parents, Carlos and Concepcion Cavazos; her sisters, Inocencia Parra and Graciela Pedraza; and her brother, Carlos Cavazos, Jr.
Carmen will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched throughout her 93 remarkable years.
A memorial service will be held on May 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Kingwood Methodist Church.
