

Clifford Lavelle Gwin, 82, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Kingwood, Texas. He was born April 29, 1932 in North Beaver Township, Lawrence County, PA , the son of Willis “Pete” and Jennie Gwin.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (McKee) Gwin, daughter Kathy A. (Tom) Lasko of Nashville, TN, son Gary E. (Carmen) Gwin of Eagle, ID, and Patricia E. (Charles) Booker of Greensboro, NC; step-daughters Carol J. (Wolfgang) Szczukowsky of Germany, Roberta C. Kirsopp (Robert Palmer) of Crosby, Texas and Ruth F. Kirsopp of Baton Rouge, LA. Also surviving is a brother, W. Gayle Gwin of North Beaver Twp., Lawrence County, PA. and eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Howard Gwin and Richard Gwin, and sister Eileen Johnson.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was retired from the University of California-San Diego where he worked as a Development Technician in the Medical School. In addition, he was self-employed developing and manufacturing specialized medical devices for the veterinary industry. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many voluntary service capacities. He enjoyed building and remodeling homes, researching investments, and hunting. He held a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A visitation will be on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339. The memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4021 Deerbrook Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77339. The burial service will be in the spring in Pennsylvania.
