Douglas Rene Serrano

With deep love and sorrow, we announce that our beloved Father, Spouse and Friend Douglas Rene Serrano — a man of love, integrity, warmth, and quiet strength— was called to the Lord´s presence on December 17, 2025, leaving a legacy defined by unity, kindness, and perseverance.

Douglas, the youngest of five siblings –Humberto, Javier, Lorena & David, was born in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua on May 29, 1963 and moved to the US in the 80´s where he spent the rest of his life. He was married to Magaly, was the father of Moises, Joshua, Corvin & Anthony, Grandfather to Madalynn, Nathan & Mason, and Great Grandfather to Eleana.

Later in life, he developed a beautiful love for dogs after meeting his first beloved pet, Louie. That love grew even more when he opened his home and his heart to Loki and Lulu.

He dedicated his life wholeheartedly to his family, friends, and especially to his work. As a ramp agent with Continental/United for over 30 years, he took great pride in what he did and found genuine happiness in loading wide-body aircraft. He always spoke very highly about his job and all the friends and connections he made throughout the years.

Douglas loved the beach, where he always found peace and joy. He had a true gift for building meaningful friendships and bringing laughter wherever he went. One of his greatest joys was sports, especially baseball, which he enjoyed playing, watching, and listening to, and never missing a game.

Today he rests in eternal peace alongside his beloved parents, Carlos Humberto & Sara and his brothers, Humberto & Javier.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, friendship, and joy that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with a smile on his face and sunglasses on.

Con profundo amor y tristeza, anunciamos que nuestro querido padre, esposo y amigo, Douglas Rene Serrano —un hombre de amor, integridad, calidez y fortaleza interna— fue llamado a la presencia del Señor el 17 de diciembre de 2025, dejando un legado definido por la unidad, la bondad y la perseverancia.

Douglas, el menor de cinco hermanos – Humberto, Javier, Lorena y David – nació en Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, el 29 de mayo de 1963, y se trasladó a los Estados Unidos en los años 80, donde pasó el resto de su vida. Estuvo casado con Magaly, padre de Moisés, Joshua, Corvin y Anthony, abuelo de Madalynn, Natan y Mason, y bisabuelo de Eleana.

Más adelante en la vida, desarrolló un hermoso amor por los perros después de conocer a su primera querida mascota, Louie. Ese amor creció aún más cuando abrió su hogar y su corazón a Loki y Lulu.

Dedicó su vida de manera plena a su familia y amigos, pero especialmente a su trabajo. Como agente de rampa con Continental/United durante más de 30 años, se sentía muy orgulloso de lo que hacía y encontraba verdadera felicidad en cargar aviones de fuselaje ancho. Siempre hablaba con gran entusiasmo sobre su trabajo y de todos los amigos que hizo a lo largo de los años.

Douglas amaba la playa, donde siempre encontraba paz y alegría. Tenía un don especial para construir amistades significativas y llevar alegría y risas a donde quiera que fuera. Una de sus mayores pasiones eran los deportes, especialmente el béisbol, que disfrutaba jugar, ver y escuchar. Nunca se perdía un juego.

Hoy descansa en paz eterna junto a sus amados padres, Carlos Humberto y Sara, y sus hermanos, Humberto y Javier.

Deja un legado de amor, dedicación, amistad y alegría que vivirá en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerlo. Será profundamente extrañado y siempre recordado con una sonrisa en el rostro y sus gafas de sol puestas.
