Glenn R. Wright

Master Sergeant Glenn “Papa” Ray Wright, Retired, 76, lost his battle to leukemia Saturday, February 15, 2014. At the age of 18 in 1955, he joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. Then in 1956, Papa crossed services and joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 22 years and 11 months until he retired in 1978. After retirement, he owned an automotive repair business for over 25 years.

Glenn married Glenda LaVerne Rogge (Boatright) on July 30, 1968 after knowing each other only 9 days. The similarities that is shared between the two of them is a one-of-a-kind story. They do not just share similar names, but they also share the same birthday and married on their birthdays.

He is survived by his wife, sons Gary Baker, Michael Wright, Duane Rogge, Richard Wright, daughters Norma Wright and Deborah Jordan, 13 grandkids Matt Parker, Danelle Pritt, Bobby Rogge, Gerri Pritt, Krista Rogge, Shawnee Wright, Brennan Wright, Jake Jordan, Chessa Welch, Lacy Jordan, Taylor Wright, Brenna Crawford and Shaylie Wright and 9 great-grandkids.

Papa will truly be missed by all of us but his sense of humor and wit will live in all of us forever!
