My favorite memory of you will always be the way you comforted me.  Anytime something was bothering me, whether I was right or wrong, you were there to let me cry, vent, or talk it out.  I would lay in your lap, and you would run your fingers through my hair and give me the best advice that only a mom can.  Somehow you always made me feel better, stronger, and able to take on whatever life had thrown at me.  Then you would smile, and I couldn't help but to smile and forget my troubles.  You were always smiling and taught me to always cherish the little things in life because they are actually the big things.  As always, you were right.  The little things like jamming songs on the way to school, leaving notes for me, and always picking up the phone to listen may be things which don’t cost anything but the memories they created are priceless.  The time I was able to have with you the past few years is irreplaceable and even though we had our differences, I will treasure those memories with you for the rest of my life.  
Your words of wisdom throughout my life have all proven to be true and I hope I can be half the mother you were to me, grandmother to your grandkids, and friend to everyone you met.  You are missed every day and life will never be the same, but I know your spirit will live on in my heart because I am who I am because of you. I will always love Gloria. When we had Honey’s funeral and we went up to the casket I kinda lost it and I thought I can’t do this just yet and Gloria was there to hold me and to let me cry and get it together before we walked outside. Her love  and kindness will always be remembered in every person she knew.  I can hear her laugh and I can see her smile.  Gloria will always be in my heart. 

My mawmaw, the best I could ever ask for😘 all the things you did for me as a child and as an adult,  I will never be able to repay but they will forever hold a spot in my heart and I am forever grateful for them.  fly high mawmaw 🕊🕊🕊until we meet again. 

My aunt Gloria and I have lived far apart so most of our memories are long talks on the phone. Sharing what our kids had been up to. Some happy some sad times. I think we both really enjoyed talking about our family history. Like life in the 60's and 70's. With Papa and Meme, Cooky, Bunny and Ritchie, Gloria, and my mom Trisha all hollaring (their way of talking) over Sunday spaghetti dinner. My cousin Ricky and I loved rolling down the grassy hill then jumping in the pool so we weren't itchy from the grass. Many years later 2001 or 02 I did get to visit her and my cousins and we all went to a pig roast at a neighbor/friends place down the road, it was a fun Texas time lots of good food, music and dancing etc. . .
I could always confide to Gloria about anything and I knew she wouldn't judge me. She was very open minded and forgiving.  Lastly, as heartbreaking as it is knowing she has gone to sleep, we both have the hope that Jehovah God will restore this earth to his intended paradise and bring back Gloria and millions of others to live on this earth with no more sickness and death in God's due time. Rev. 21:4. 

The other day I ordered pizza and realized I wouldn’t be ordering mawmaw her personal pepperoni with extra mushrooms. She was a foodie for sure.  Food brought her joy, whether it was  orange chicken with a large wonton, hamburgers, steak and shrimp (probably her favorite) or fried mushrooms. I always knew I could brighten her day by bringing her one of those. I dont think i’ll ever get food to-go or order pizza without thinking about her.  

One thing i’ll miss is everyday mawmaw would come out of her room and say “how’s it going Mr. Brian” and Jake would laugh everytime and repeat it. No matter how my day was going, I was forced to reply and for a split second even if my reply was just generic  (oh it’s going), I knew it made Jake laugh and I think that’s why she did it.  It was simple, but it made everyone happy in the moment.  She was good at doing those types of things. 

My dear friend of 40 years will be missed dearly. Gloria enjoyed studying the Bible. She believed the promise of Revelation 21:3 and 4 that under God's protective covering right here on Earth tears and pain and death will be no more. She also took comfort in the promise of Isaiah 33:24 that no resident will say "I am sick." She firmly believed that she would simply sleep in the grave until the time when under God's Kingdom she would be brought back to life right here on beautiful paradise like Earth and never be sick again. She enjoyed reading the Bible and getting answers to her Bible questions on www.jw.org.
