

Gloria Valdoz passed away on August 10, 2016 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born August 15, 1938 to Emeterio and Senobia Valdoz in San Fernando, Victoria, Tarlac, Philippines. She was the second child of five in the family.
As a young girl she was a Girl Scout and was very active in volleyball as well as track and field. She also loved spending her spare time hanging out with her friends.
Ms. Valdoz graduated from Arellano University High School, a private school located in Manila, Philippines in 1953. Her favorite subject in school was Math. She would go on to pursue a career using math as her main focus. Ms. Valdoz earned her Bachelors of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting from Far Eastern University in 1957.
While growing up, some of her best friends were Ellie Valdez, Paz Rigor, Marietta Gabertan, Juliana Galingan, Fely Ingal, Dalisay Galingan. Later in life, she became friends with Aurora Florez, Remy DeGracia, Letty McClinton, Amelia Yanez and Marlyn Porras.
Ms. Valdoz was blessed with three wonderful children. Her oldest is her son, Mel Chan, followed by two wonderful daughters Dory Chan the middle child and Eileen Davenport the youngest. She was also blessed with six grandchildren Victor Adame, John Anthony Adame, Westley Adame, Branden Paez, Meriel Chan, and Bernadette Chan.
Ms. Valdoz’s primary occupation was accounting. She was employed for over ten years at Kersten Shipping Company as an accountant then moved to Houston in 1980. She worked at Century Development for ten years as an accountant then she worked in sales for eleven years until she retired in 2001.
She was a world traveler and enjoyed all the places she visited including Spain, Europe, Australia, London, Canada, Berlin, Philippines, Scotland, Wales, Italy, Germany, Amsterdam, France, and Switzerland and all over the United States. She was a parishioner at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, Texas.
The family will receive friends at Kingwood Funeral Home on Tuesday August 16, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm and services will be on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 11 am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, Texas.
