

John Peter Bree, age 87, passed away on April 21, 2013 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born to John and Viola Bree on September 3, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York.
John lived a selfless life first serving as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp in World War II. John joined the AAF attending Cornell University. He became a Radio Operator- Mechanic -Gunner in the 93rd Bombardment Unit during the War. He later joined and retired as a New York City Policeman in the Motorcycle force. Afterwards, he became part-owner in the family business, Sel-Air Tool and Die Company in New York and then later joined Bank of New York in NYC in their protective services division. John serve the community as well, for many years he was active in the V.F.W Youth Sports Program in New York and then later as an officer in the Knights of Columbus rising to 4th Degree Knight in his prior home in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He also enjoyed being a member of the Gem & Mineral Society where he honed his award winning craft of making jewelry from rare gem stones by hand.
John leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Evelyn, his son John Bree and wife Peggy, his two daughters Karen Dunne and husband Bill and Janis Bree and fiancé Lonnie Abshire all of whom live in Texas. John will be missed by his surviving brother Charles and sister Kathy as well as his seven grandchildren; Kelly, Tami, Joe, Patrick, John, Ryan and Justin; twenty one great grandchildren, and numerous loved ones, family, friends (especially those here in the Cypress Woods community). John is preceded in death by three other grandchildren Gregory, Evan and Billy.
A visitation will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas, 77339 on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2013, from 6-8 pm.
There will be a mass service at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood at 10:30 a.m. on April 25th followed by internment with military honors at the Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
