

John Clinton Means passed away on December 19, 2012 at the age of 57. He was born on September 13, 1955 to James William and Nell Rives Means in Houston, Texas. He has resided in Austin, Texas for the past several years.
John graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1979 with a BS degree from the School of Agriculture. He made his career as a landscape architect in the Houston area. He owned Horizon Landscape for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nell and his partner Richard Lawrence. He is survived by his father, James William Means; sister Susan Ardoin and husband Kenneth; and brother James Means and wife Diane. He will be greatly missed also by Susan's daughter Dana and son Jody; and James' daughters Kara and Kelley.
John was accomplished in friendship. He faithfully loved his family and dear friends and showed it with his kindness. We will always cherish fond memories of John.
There is a viewing on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home. Rev. Kristin Bogart from Atascocita United Methodist Church will lead with a private service at the home of his father.
