Born in Canton, Ohio on April 9, 1946, the loving daughter of two wonderful parents, the late James and Edna Denk and brother Jimmy.
Judy was affectionately known as “Granny” by most who knew her, loved by all. She was a voracious reader with an endless appetite for books, travel shows and brunch on Sundays. Most importantly, she was a good listener, offering sage advice and feedback without ever passing judgement. “Granny” was always available as a soft shoulder to lean on. A kind and generous soul, a very special mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Prior to moving to Texas in 2020, she lived in Pocomoke City, Maryland for 37 years where she moved to be close to her late Aunt Dorothy Elliott, whom she loved and adored and who left an indelible mark on Judy’s life. She loved trips to the beach in Assateague, Virginia, Maryland crabcakes and blue crabs, and the intimacy and peace of the Eastern Shore. She retired from Sysco after a long career creating lifelong friendships that she cherished. She loved and missed her “Sysco family”.
Judy is survived by her son Christopher Shepardson and daughter-in-law Lori of Kingwood, Texas, daughter Lori Romain and son in-law Adam of Fulshear, Texas, daughter Melissa Smith and son-in-law Mike of Reston, Virginia.
Grandmother of Sarah Foreman and husband Beau, Austin and Ashley Shepardson, Kyle Cannon, Cameron Smith, Evan Romain, Gabrielle, John and Andrew Imperato.
Judy will be laid to rest at a later date next to her parents and brother in Canton, Ohio.
