Born in Camden, New Jersey, she was raised in Manhattan, New York. She was the only child of Ernest Ashley and Catherine Madigan-Ashley. She was a third generation Irish immigrant. Her father proudly served as a Merchant Marine at the onset of World War II.
Her youth included modeling and travel. She was never afraid to explore, and adventure. She was certainly a Renaissance Woman.
Upon retirement she pursued her family’s history. She became an avid genealogist; even traveling to her family’s beloved Ireland. She created volumes of rich family history for generations to come.
She was strong and fearless in adversity. She was a breast cancer survivor and total inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She will always be loved, and never forgotten.
