

L. D. loved God and Family and supported the Martinsville Baptist Church over his lifetime. He enjoyed his work, family time, bowling, traveling along with gardening and being outdoors.
L. D. grew up and from and early age understood hard work sharecropping along with his family. He played baseball in the community, basketball in High School and the Military overseas. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1955 and shorty after served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany as a radar air defense operator. After the service he worked various jobs until starting with Moore Supply Co in Nacogdoches in 1961. He learned all the aspects of Plumbing Wholesale Distribution and it became his career. After moving Mom and I to Houston in the later 1960's he took night classes at Massey Business College. He Managed various stores from 1971 until starting Byars Plumbing Supply Co in 1986 remain active and working full time until health issues overwhelmed him mid-2023.
He is survived by his wife Myrna Worry Byars, Son Charles Ray Byars and Wife Judy of Houston, Texas,
Grandson Cody Fox Byars of Van Nuys, California, Sister in Law Bonnie Byars of Swift, Texas, and former wife Marilyn Hill of Conroe, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Calvin and Wilma Byars, Sister Fannie and her husband Willis Castleberry, brother Ray Byars, and brother Murville Byars.

A visitation for L D will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Huffman Cemetery, 26400 FM 2100, Huffman, TX 77336.
