

Marilyn Mae McCreight was born August 7, 1933 in Elmira, New York to her loving parents Gordon McLaughlin and Margaret nee Killigrew McLaughlin and graduated from Elmira College (N.Y.). Marilyn met the love of her life Charles McCreight during her high school years and went on to marry him June 26, 1955. Marilyn and Chuck were blessed with two girls Karen Lee and Glenda Jean McCreight. The McCreight family lived an adventurous life of travel and living abroad. They spent several years living in Seoul, Korea and enjoyed traveling throughout Asia while living there. After Korea, they settled in Kingwood, Texas where they were golfers at Kingwood Country Club. Marilyn had a love and dedication for many things: her family, friends and, of course, playing bridge. Marilyn was an avid bridge player and played every week in various bridge groups in Kingwood. She was blessed with the addition to her family by son in law Stephen Hornberger and three grandchildren Jack, Mark and Claire Hornberger.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Hornberger in 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 of years, Charles Edward McCreight; her daughter Glenda McCreight; her grandchildren Dr. John Hornberger, Mark Hornberger and Claire Hornberger.
Her husband Charles E. McCreight invites friends to join Marilyn’s family for visitation on Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home. Private burial services will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Houston, TX.
